Trends in Overall ActivityOverall activity at SOS Médecins clinics remains stable, except for pediatric cases, where activity has increased by 11% (+2,467 visits). The volume of visits (61,868 weekly visits across all age groups) is slightly higher than in 2012 and 2013 for this time of year.
Trends in Major ConditionsAmong children under 2 years of age, there continues to be an increase in visits for bronchiolitis, ENT conditions, and viral syndromes. Among children aged 2–14, the sharpest increases are observed for ENT conditions and bronchitis. And among those over 75, the number of visits for heart failure increased by 25% this week (+33 visits).
Trends in seasonal indicators Among children under 2 years of age, visits for bronchiolitis are on the rise (+20%, or +72 visits), with numbers corresponding to the epidemic period (421 weekly visits). It is worth noting contrasting regional situations, with an earlier and more intense start to the epidemic in the Île-de-France region, where the current level exceeds that observed during the epidemic peaks of the previous two years. Consultations for pneumonia are on the rise among those under 75 and stable among those over 75. Across all age groups, there has been a 16% increase in consultations, or 74 more visits. The numbers remain higher than those in 2012 and 2013. Visits for bronchitis are on the rise among children (+17%, or +225 visits) and stable among adults. With 3,031 weekly visits across all age groups, the numbers remain higher than those in 2012 and 2013. Consultations for asthma are increasing among children under 2 years of age (+31%, or +25 visits) and among those aged 15–74 (+17%, or +49 visits). The number of visits (985 visits) is higher than in the two previous years. Consultations for influenza are on the rise across all age groups (+25%, or +156 visits). The numbers are comparable to those of the previous two years (784 weekly visits). Consultations for gastroenteritis are stable among those under 75 and declining among those over 75. With 4,024 weekly visits across all age groups, the numbers remain higher than those of 2012 and 2013.
