SOS Médecins National Newsletter, February 2, 2010

Over the past week, the total volume of activity at SOS Médecins clinics has remained similar to that of the previous week. All age groups are affected.

Nationally, the reasons for calls suggesting flu-like symptoms have stabilized across all geographic areas over the past three weeks. Over the past week, diagnoses of "clinical flu" have continued to decline. This decline affects all age groups. Diagnoses of "clinical flu" account for less than 1% of activity.

The share of cases for the "gastroenteritis" indicator has stabilized but remains at a high level, accounting for 25% of calls.

The proportion of cases for the "bronchiolitis/respiratory conditions in infants" indicator has stabilized compared to last week, except in the Central-East and Southeast regions.

The number of deaths certified by SOS Médecins is similar to that of the previous week.

For the past week, total activity has stabilized in most regions, and there continues to be a decline in "clinical influenza" diagnoses.
