Key Points

  • In Week 33 (August 11–17, 2025), activity at SOS Médecins clinics increased among children aged 2–14 compared to the previous week (+16%, or +1,877 visits) and remained stable in other age groups.

  • Directly linked to the heatwave across much of the country, there was an increase in cases compared to the previous week for:

    • Heatstroke: all ages (+224%, or +175 cases), though the number of cases remains comparable to those observed in previous years during the same period.

    • Dehydration: among adults (+143%, or +86 cases).

    • Isolated fever: in children under 2 years old (+21%, or +50 cases) and adults (+15%, or +52 cases).

    • Insect bites: all ages (+24%, or +294 cases) and allergies in children under 15 (+8%, or +33 cases).

    • Impetigo in children aged 2–14 (+37%, or +141 visits), dermatological issues in children (+22%, or +91 visits), and erysipelas in those aged 75 and older (+32%, or +52 visits).

  • There was also an increase in procedures for:

    • Upper respiratory tract conditions and stomatological and ENT disorders among 2- to 14-year-olds (+26%, or +1,226 visits) and 15- to 74-year-olds (+13%, or +1,269 visits), pneumonia among those aged 75 and older (+10%, or +26 visits),

    • Gastrointestinal conditions in children: gastroenteritis among 2- to 14-year-olds (+23%, or +992 cases), diarrhea among children under 2 years of age (+35%, or +24 cases),

    • Urinary tract infections in those aged 15–74 (+9%, or +197 cases).

  • Among other conditions, there was an increase in cases of infectious conjunctivitis across all age groups (+21%, or +58 cases), viral syndrome in children under 2 years of age (+21%, or +16 cases), and, in those aged 75 and older, for deterioration in general health (+7%, or +28 cases) and trauma (+8%, or +36 cases).
