Key Points
In Week 41 (October 6–12, 2025), the number of emergency department visits rose slightly among children under 15 (+5% compared to the previous week, or +4,254 visits) and remained stable among adults. The number of hospitalizations following a visit remained stable.
Among respiratory indicators, there was an increase compared to the previous week for:
Bronchiolitis in children under 1 year of age (+17%, or +171 visits), following a +16% increase the previous week.
Pneumonia and cough in children under 15 (respectively +21% and +14%, or +78 and +137 visits).
Influenza/flu-like illness and acute bronchitis in those aged 75 and older (respectively +19% and +18%, or +53 and +15 visits).
In contrast, visits for suspected COVID-19 decreased across all age groups (-9%, or -191 visits).
Among other conditions, the following increases in visits were noted:
In children for:
Vomiting (+17%, or +190 visits) and nonspecific abdominal pain in children aged 2–14 (+6%, or +180 visits)
Trauma (+7%, or +1,867 visits),
In those aged 75 and older for chest pain (+6%, or +107 visits) and heart failure, which continues to rise (+6%, or +86 visits), following a 14% increase in Week 40.
