Key Points

• In Week 28 (July 7–13, 2025), the number of emergency department visits and hospitalizations following such visits decreased among children (by 10% and 7%, respectively) and remained stable among adults.

• Finally, compared to the previous week, indicators related to weather conditions (hyperthermia/heatstroke, insect bites) and those for dehydration and malaise were down across all age groups

• Among adults, there was an increase in visits for stroke (+14%, or +192 visits) and neurological conditions (+8%, or +90 visits) among those aged 75 and older, as well as for isolated fever (+5%, or +22 visits) and cough (+16%, or +17 visits), and, among those aged 15–74 only, for suspected COVID-19 (+9%, or +20 visits).

• We also note, in small sample sizes, an increase in visits for enterovirus meningitis among those aged 2–14 and 15–74 (+31%, or +11 and +16 visits, respectively).

• There was also an increase in visits related to digestive disorders among those aged 15–74 and those under 2 years old (6% and 7% respectively, or 322 and 40 visits) as well as for abdominal pain among those aged 75 and older (5%, or 78 visits). Among those aged 15–74, there was also an increase in visits for urinary tract infections (+6%, or 234 more visits).
