Organization of Vaccination and Measurement of Vaccination Coverage in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur Region

An overview of the organization of the vaccination program and the available data for measuring vaccination activity or vaccination coverage (VC) in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur (PACA) region was compiled. This work involved, on the one hand, identifying the partners involved in vaccination and the methods used to assess VCO, and, on the other hand, analyzing all available and previously unexploited vaccination activity data that can be used to assess VCO. At the national level, for children, the 24-month health certificates (CS24) and triennial school surveys provide regular coverage data up to age 15. At the regional level, data from CS24 and preschool health screenings, where available within departments, are partially utilized and disseminated within limited channels. Among adults, health status is less well understood, and there is a need for tools to provide data. In Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur, there is also potentially usable data that remains untapped due to a lack of time, resources, and even technical support. Similarly, the results of ad hoc studies conducted in the region are not always shared. At this stage, among the various sources examined, one of the most interesting is the general sample of beneficiaries, representative of those covered by the general health insurance system. This tool allows for the analysis of individual data from a cohort of socially insured individuals over a long period of time and for obtaining estimates of vaccination coverage. A detailed account of visits to the partners met is provided in the final section of the report (available for download online). (R.A.)
