Key Points

COVID-19

  • In S51, viral circulation continues to decline, though at a slower rate. As of December 18, the number of patients currently hospitalized in general wards has decreased compared to the previous Sunday, while the number of patients hospitalized in intensive care units due to SARS-CoV-2 infection remains stable and low.

Bronchiolitis

  • Epidemic phase

  • SOS Médecins - The proportion of consultations for bronchiolitis among children under 2 years of age is stable compared to the previous week.

  • Emergency departments - The proportion of visits for bronchiolitis among children under 2 years of age has decreased sharply compared to the previous week. The proportion of people hospitalized after an emergency department visit remains stable.

Influenza

  • Epidemic phase

  • SOS Médecins - The proportion of consultations for flu-like symptoms appears to be stabilizing compared to the previous week.

  • Sentinel Network - The incidence rate for influenza-like illnesses, not yet finalized, is 156 per 100,000 inhabitants (95% CI [41; 271]), compared to 292 per 100,000 inhabitants (95% CI [173; 411]) the previous week.

  • Emergency departments - The proportion of visits for influenza-like illness increased slightly compared to the previous week.

Acute gastroenteritis

  • Low activity

  • SOS Médecins - The proportion of consultations for a diagnosis of gastroenteritis remains stable.

  • Sentinelles Network - The incidence rate for acute diarrhea is 76 per 100,000 inhabitants (95% CI [8; 144]), compared to 84 per 100,000 inhabitants (95% CI [25; 143]) the previous week.

  • Emergency departments - The proportion of visits for gastroenteritis remains stable.
