Epidemiological surveillance in Corsica. Update as of April 14, 2021.

Key Points

COVID-19

Given the presence of a holiday, the data should be interpreted with caution. The regional incidence rate, at 140 per 100,000 inhabitants, shows a decrease (-12%), with differing trends between the two departments. The incidence rate is decreasing in Southern Corsica (-26%) and is stable in Northern Corsica (+4%). The testing rate is down sharply (4,301 per 100,000 inhabitants, a decrease of 25%), but this is impacted by the suspension of testing in schools. The regional positivity rate, at 3.4%, has increased (+0.5 percentage points) compared to the previous week. The total number of hospitalizations across all departments remains stable at the regional level (+1 additional hospitalization compared to Week 13). The number of people hospitalized in intensive care or continuous care units has increased very slightly (18 hospitalizations vs. 16 in Week 13).

Winter Epidemics

Bronchiolitis outbreak currently underway.

Pollen

The allergy risk across Corsica is considered moderate, with the main risk from nettles (3/5), ash trees and cypresses (2/5), followed by poplars and plane trees (1/5).
