Surveillance of Chikungunya, Dengue, and Zika in Occitanie. Update as of June 30, 2023.

Key Points

From May 1 to November 30 each year, Santé publique France coordinates, in conjunction with the relevant Regional Health Agencies (ARS), enhanced seasonal surveillance of chikungunya, dengue, and Zika in mainland France.
In Occitanie, since May 1, 2023, 9 imported cases of dengue have been identified. No cases of chikungunya or Zika have been identified.
To limit the risk of local transmission, 28 entomological surveys and 13 vector control treatments were carried out in the vicinity of these cases.
Nationally, from May 1 to June 30, 2023, the following were confirmed:
- 132 imported cases of dengue, 4 imported cases of chikungunya, and 0 imported cases of Zika.
- The imported dengue cases were mainly from Martinique (34), Guadeloupe (32), Thailand (12), Indonesia (10), and Côte d’Ivoire (9).
In the overseas departments, several outbreaks are currently active in French Guiana, Guadeloupe, and Martinique.
