Surveillance of Chikungunya, Dengue, and Zika in Occitanie. Summary of the 2022 season.

Key points

  • 51 imported cases of dengue fever were identified: 19 of them were returning from Cuba. Three imported cases of chikungunya (Indonesia and Chad) and two imported cases of Zika (Thailand) were also identified.

  • To limit the risk of local transmission, 146 entomological surveys and 114 vector control treatments were carried out in the vicinity of these cases in Occitanie.

  • Nationwide, there were 271 imported cases of dengue, 22 imported cases of chikungunya, and 3 imported cases of Zika.

  • Since the start of the season, 65 locally transmitted cases of dengue have been documented in mainland France, including 12 cases in Occitanie.
