Health Monitoring in the Occitanie Region. Update as of September 29, 2022.

Key Points

COVID-19

  • In Occitanie, according to data available as of September 29, 2022, for week 38 of 2022, incidence and testing rates were on the rise compared to week 37, but the increase was less pronounced than the previous week: incidence rate of 280 cases per 100,000 inhabitants (+8%) and testing rate of 1,477 cases per 100,000 inhabitants (+10%). Regarding the incidence rate, this upward trend was observed only among adults (primarily those aged 45 and older), while the indicator was decreasing among children. The positivity rate across all age groups was stable at 19.0% (-0.3 percentage points) at the regional level, increasing among those aged 45 and older and decreasing among those under 45.

  • The effective reproduction number (R) estimated from regional SI-DEP data through September 24, 2022, was 1.14 (1.12–1.16), stable compared to the previous week (1.21).

Monkeypox

  • In Occitanie, as of September 27, 2022, 312 confirmed cases residing in the region have been reported by healthcare professionals since the first case occurred on May 11, 2022.

Gastroenteritis and acute diarrhea

  • Moderate activity in private practice (SOS Médecins) and low activity in hospital settings (Oscour® network)

Bronchiolitis

  • Surveillance has resumed, but there is not yet an epidemic in Occitanie
