COVID-19
In week 03-2023, the four SOS Médecins associations in the region (Nîmes, Montpellier, Perpignan, and Toulouse) recorded 25 cases of suspected or confirmed COVID-19 (equivalent to 65 cases per 10,000 consultations), a decrease compared to Week 02 (39 cases, 101 cases per 10,000 consultations).
Weekly COVID-19 activity in emergency departments has been declining over the past 3 weeks at the regional level, with 68 suspected cases of COVID-19 in week 03-2023, or 28 per 10,000 consultations for the most recent period considered (vs. 134 and 49 per 10,000 in week 2).
According to data available as of January 24, 2023, at 2:00 PM, 1,420 COVID-19 cases were currently hospitalized in Occitanie, including 5.9% (N=84) in critical care units (resuscitation, intensive care, and continuous monitoring).
Influenza
Indicators are declining but at a slower rate, or even stabilizing, while the proportion of type B viruses is increasing.
Oscour® Network: Consultations for flu/flu-like syndrome across all age groups were slightly lower compared to the previous week in all age groups.
SOS Médecins: procedures for all ages for the diagnosis of influenza/influenza-like illness were slightly higher compared to the previous week, except among those aged 65 and older, where they were decreasing.
Sentinelles Network: The incidence rate of influenza-like illness cases seen in general practice was 187/100,000 [115; 259], stable compared to the previous week (181/100,000).
Bronchiolitis
Oscour® Network: Consultations for a diagnosis of bronchiolitis in children under 2 years of age were stable compared to the previous week.
SOS Médecins: procedures for the diagnosis of bronchiolitis in children under 2 years of age have fluctuated in recent weeks.
Gastroenteritis and acute diarrhea
Oscour® Network: Gastroenteritis activity was moderate in week 03-2023.
SOS Médecins: Gastroenteritis activity was high in week 03-2023. Procedures for gastroenteritis diagnosis across all age groups remained stable compared to the previous week; however, as in emergency departments, there was an increase in procedures for the youngest children and a decrease for adults.
