Mortality
: Mortality rates recorded from vital statistics data, across all age groups, remain stable, with figures in line with the expected number of deaths for this period.
Emergency room visits by vulnerable populations
Activity among children under 1 year of age continues to rise sharply, remaining above the threshold for the fourth week and at a higher level than in previous years. According to Oscour®, nearly 60% of visits are related to winter illnesses (lower respiratory tract infections, bronchiolitis, and ENT infections). There is also an increase among those over 75 years of age, but below the threshold.
Reportable Diseases (MDO)
No significant changes this week in Aquitaine.
Virology and enterovirus
meningitis Circulation of seasonal respiratory viruses according to the Bordeaux University Hospital, notably RSV and rhinovirus; persistence of enteroviruses, consistent with the observed cases of enterovirus meningitis.
Acute gastroenteritis (AGE)
In Aquitaine, as throughout France, activity is rising sharply, with the threshold exceeded in Aquitaine based on data from the SOS Médecins associations.
Influenza and influenza-like illnesses
Increase in influenza activity in Aquitaine, as well as at the national level, according to Oscour®, SOS Médecins, and the unified network.
Bronchiolitis
In Aquitaine, the epidemic is still ongoing according to SOS Médecins, Oscour®, and the AquiRespi network, with the latter reporting stable activity (302 children on December 28 and 29).
Carbon monoxide poisoning
Since September 2013, 12 incidents involving 26 people, 19 of whom were transported to the emergency room (nationwide: 523 incidents, 1,546 people exposed, and 13 deaths).
