: Mortality rates recorded from vital statistics data, across all age groups, remain stable, with the number of deaths in line with the expected number for this period.

Emergency department visits by vulnerable populations
Activity among children under 1 year of age is above the threshold for the second consecutive week, a rise often observed during this period. No change for those over 75 years of age.

Reportable Diseases (RD)
Only one case of foodborne illness was reported this week in the Aquitaine region.

Virology and enterovirus
meningitis Circulation of seasonal respiratory viruses according to Bordeaux University Hospital, notably a sharp increase in RSV; no enteroviruses correlated with the observed enterovirus meningitis cases.

Acute gastroenteritis (AGE)
In France as well as in Aquitaine, activity is slightly on the rise according to SOS Médecins and the Oscour® network, mainly among children and adults under 75 years of age.

Influenza and influenza-like illnesses Low
influenza activity with a moderate increase according to Oscour® and SOS Médecins in Aquitaine as well as nationally.

Bronchiolitis
Continued increase in activity reported by SOS Médecins and Oscour® in Aquitaine (threshold exceeded for the past 2 weeks) and in France. Sharp rise in cases treated by the AquiRespi network (220 children on December 14 and 15).

Mushroom poisoning
End of annual regional surveillance, with a total of 73 cases according to CAPTV and 22 according to Oscour® since July 2013 (no deaths); outbreak comparable to last year.

Carbon monoxide poisoning
Since September 2013, 8 incidents involving 18 people, 12 of whom were transported to the emergency room (nationally: 421 incidents, 1,294 people exposed, and 10 deaths).

School Absenteeism
Absenteeism rates are rising; a few cases of acute respiratory infections and flu-like syndromes have been reported.
