Health Monitoring in Normandy. Update as of March 20, 2024.

Key Points

Flu

  • Normandy has been in the post-epidemic phase for two weeks.

  • Most indicators of influenza-like illness activity continue to decline (emergency departments, hospital admissions following initial visits, and SOS Médecins calls).

  • Type A virus, particularly the H1N1 subtype, remains the predominant strain in week 11, as it has been throughout the epidemic period (data from university hospital virology laboratories).

Acute Gastroenteritis

  • Activity in emergency departments and SOS Médecins clinics is on the rise.

  • This increase mainly affects children under 15 years of age.

Mycoplasma pneumoniae pneumonia

  • The various activity indicators for pneumonia are declining, both in the community (SOS Médecins) and in hospitals (emergency departments), and remain at moderate levels.

  • However, the positivity rate for Mycoplasma pneumoniae in hospital specimens has been rising for the past two weeks.
