Health Monitoring in Normandy. Update as of March 20, 2024.
Key Points
Flu
Normandy has been in the post-epidemic phase for two weeks.
Most indicators of influenza-like illness activity continue to decline (emergency departments, hospital admissions following initial visits, and SOS Médecins calls).
Type A virus, particularly the H1N1 subtype, remains the predominant strain in week 11, as it has been throughout the epidemic period (data from university hospital virology laboratories).
Acute Gastroenteritis
Activity in emergency departments and SOS Médecins clinics is on the rise.
This increase mainly affects children under 15 years of age.
Mycoplasma pneumoniae pneumonia
The various activity indicators for pneumonia are declining, both in the community (SOS Médecins) and in hospitals (emergency departments), and remain at moderate levels.
However, the positivity rate for Mycoplasma pneumoniae in hospital specimens has been rising for the past two weeks.
