COVID-19: Epidemiological Update for the Hauts-de-France Region as of December 9, 2022

In urban areas, the number of patients seeking care for suspected Covid-19 is now rising at SOS Médecins, and consultations for acute respiratory infections (all causes combined) continue to increase (Sentinelles Network)
In hospitals, the number of emergency room visits for suspected COVID-19 is now rising. The number of new admissions to intensive care is increasing, particularly among those aged 60–79. Admissions to general wards remain stable.
This fall, the COVID-19 booster vaccination campaign is being conducted alongside the seasonal flu campaign for at-risk individuals. Currently, only 34.2% of people aged 60–79 and 12.5% of those over 80 have up-to-date COVID-19 vaccine protection, and less than 10% of those over 60 have received the booster vaccine adapted to the Omicron variants.
