Analysis of the Epidemiological Situation

The upward trend in the number of visits for flu-like illness observed at the end of the year has been confirmed: the epidemic continues its upward phase across the entire country. The impact of the epidemic on the hospital sector remains low to moderate at this time. Additionally, a new severe case of influenza has been reported at the start of this year. In total, three severe cases—one linked to the Influenza A virus (lineage unspecified) and two linked to A/H3N2—have been recorded since the start of the epidemic. Finally, the Influenza A/H3N2 virus is the predominant strain in circulation.
