Analysis of the Epidemiological Situation

Dengue activity remained very low throughout French Guiana from mid-March to mid-June (S2015-12 to 24). During this period, the number of clinically suggestive cases and probable and confirmed cases of dengue remained at stable and low levels, typically observed during the inter-epidemic period.An outbreak was identified in Macouria in May, in the "Frangipaniers" neighborhood, and has remained active for 5 weeks with 4 confirmed cases and 1 probable case. The epidemiological situation for dengue corresponds to Phase 2 of Psage: "isolated epidemic outbreaks."
