Epidemiological Situation of Dengue Fever in French Guiana. Update as of August 7, 2015.
Analysis of the Epidemiological Situation
The circulation of the dengue virus in French Guiana remained low between mid-June and early August (S2015-25 to 31).During this period, the number of clinically suggestive cases and probable and confirmed cases of dengue remained at stable and low levels, typically observed during the inter-epidemic period. The outbreak identified in Macouria in May has subsided; however, two outbreaks are currently active in Cayenne. The epidemiological situation of dengue on the island of Cayenne therefore corresponds to Phase 2 of Psage: "epidemic outbreaks," while only sporadic cases are identified in the rest of the territory (Phase 1).
