Key Points

Activity related to acute respiratory infections remains high in private practice and hospital emergency departments. Over the past two weeks (Weeks 46 and 47), activity related to bronchiolitis in infants at emergency departments in French Guiana has been increasing, and cases have been reported to the CDPS: the outbreak has been ongoing for seven weeks. At the same time, a slight increase in activity has been observed for influenza and COVID-19.

Acute Respiratory Infections (ARI)

  • Upward trend in community practice and hospitals.

Influenza

  • The region is in an inter-epidemic phase, but the situation is being closely monitored due to the detection of several influenza virus infections by hospital laboratories.

Bronchiolitis

  • High prevalence and increasing.

COVID-19

  • A slight increase is being observed in emergency room visits.
