Health Surveillance in the Alsace Region. Epidemiological Update as of November 8, 2012

Highlights

  • The activity levels of the two SOS Médecins associations in the region are slightly higher than those of the same period last year.

  • The number of diagnoses of influenza and flu-like illnesses made by the SOS Médecins associations in Strasbourg and Mulhouse has remained low over the past few weeks.

  • The number of diagnoses of bronchiolitis and bronchitis made by the SOS Médecins association in Strasbourg among children under 2 years of age has been increasing over the past few weeks. This trend is also being observed in mainland France, and it is likely that the national epidemic peak will be reached in the coming weeks.

  • Since the end of summer, the number of diagnoses of diarrhea and gastroenteritis made by the SOS Médecins associations in Alsace has been increasing.
