Epidemiological surveillance in the Lorraine region. Update as of September 18, 2014.

Key Highlights

  • Over the past three weeks, allergy-related activity at emergency departments and the SOS Médecins association has remained stable, with fluctuations within the usual range.

  • A slight increase in asthma-related activity has been observed, as is typical for this time of year.

  • Activity related to heat-related illnesses is low. During the summer, increases in the number of these illnesses were observed in weeks 23 and 24 (June 2–15), mainly in Moselle and Meurthe-et-Moselle; as well as in week 29 (July 14–20) in Meurthe-et-Moselle;

  • The national aerobiological monitoring network indicates a very low allergy risk in the Lorraine region for the week of September 12–19.
