Epidemiological Surveillance in the Lorraine Region. Update as of March 21, 2013.

Highlights

  • The Epidemic The flu epidemic continues to decline in Lorraine in week 11. Flu-related activity in emergency departments and at the SOS Médecins association in Meurthe-et-Moselle has been decreasing over the past two weeks.

  • Data from the Unified Influenza Network show a decline in incidence in week 11 in the Lorraine region, and this trend is observed across mainland France, where incidence is also decreasing.

  • According to data from the hospital laboratory network (Renal) and samples collected by physicians in the GROG Network, influenza viruses of types A(H1N1) pdm09, A(H3N2), and B continue to co-circulate.

  • The number of diagnoses of bronchiolitis among children under two years of age in emergency departments in Lorraine and reported by the SOS Médecins Association of Meurthe-et-Moselle has been decreasing for several weeks.
