Epidemiological Surveillance in the Alsace Region. Update as of September 18, 2014.
Highlights
With the end of summer vacation, activity at the region’s SOS Médecins associations is slowly picking up, with a more pronounced trend in Mulhouse, where there was a significant increase in activity during week 37.
Over the past few weeks, allergy-related activity has remained low for both SOS Médecins associations in the region.
According to the National Aerobiological Surveillance Network (RNSA), grass and nettle pollen are present in Alsace, but the allergy risk is very low.
Regarding asthma, a clear increase in the number of diagnoses was observed in week 37 for the SOS Médecins association in Mulhouse. This trend was not observed for the association in Strasbourg.
Since early August, activity related to heat-related illnesses has been low to nonexistent.
