COVID-19

  • In Week 38, the incidence rate decreased (-26% compared to the previous week) and the positivity rate fell (-25%) amid a stabilization in the testing rate (-5%). This trend was consistent across all departments.

  • Among the tests screened regionally for variants of interest, 1.0% had the E484K variant, 1.2% had the E484Q variant, and 91.4% had the L452R variant.

  • Decrease in emergency room visits for suspected COVID-19, and a slight increase in SOS Médecins calls for suspected COVID-19

  • Increase in critical care admissions and new hospitalizations.

  • Gastroenteritis and acute diarrhea: Activity stable at SOS Médecins and hospital emergency departments.

  • Allergies: Activity down at SOS Médecins and stable in hospital emergency departments.

  • Asthma (ages 2–14): Activity is increasing at SOS Médecins and decreasing in hospital emergency departments.

  • Heat-related illnesses: Activity stable at SOS Médecins and increasing in hospital emergency departments.

Week 37:

  • All-cause mortality observed at the regional level was consistent with expected values for this period, for all ages and among those aged 65 and older. At the departmental level, none of the region’s departments showed a significant excess of mortality for all ages or among those aged 65 and older.
