Key Points

COVID-19

  • Deterioration of the regional epidemiological situation.

  • Increase in the incidence rate (IR), testing rate (TR), and positivity rate (PR). The regional (unadjusted) IR rose from 479 per 100,000 inhabitants in Week 40 to 510 per 100,000 inhabitants in Week 41. The IR is rising in three departments, except for Côtes-d’Armor (stable).

  • Increase in the prevalence of hospitalizations in general and critical care, and in calls to SOS Médecins.

  • Decrease in visits to hospital emergency rooms.

Bronchiolitis

  • Epidemic activity in an upward phase. The epidemic is taking hold in the eastern part of the region.

Influenza

  • Non-epidemic activity. Upward trend in SOS Médecins consultations. Increase in the detection of influenza A viruses by the virology laboratories at the Rennes and Brest university hospitals.

Asthma

  • Significant activity in hospital emergency departments among children.

Acute gastroenteritis

  • Low activity. Increase in the number of emergency room visits and stable number of SOS Médecins consultations compared to the previous week.

Monkeypox

  • As of 10/18/22, 40 confirmed cases have been reported in the Brittany region (place of residence). The most affected department is Ille-et-Vilaine.
