Key Points

COVID-19

  • Activity remains low, despite an increase in the indicators being monitored.

  • In week 48, the incidence rate (IR) rose slightly but remains at a low level. The regional (unadjusted) IR rose from 25.3 per 100,000 inhabitants in week 47 to 32.42 per 100,000 inhabitants in week 48. The (unadjusted) departmental IRs are rising in all four departments: Côtes d’Armor (IR at 32, +8 points), Finistère (IR at 22, +4 points), Ille-et-Vilaine (IR at 37, +8 points), and Morbihan (IR at 37, +10 points).

Bronchiolitis

  • Epidemic activity.

  • Stable number of emergency room visits and a slight decrease in SOS Médecins consultations.

  • Detection of RSV and rhinoviruses/enteroviruses according to the virology laboratories at the Brest and Rennes university hospitals.

Influenza

  • Non-epidemic activity.

  • Increase in SOS Médecins consultations.

  • Low detection of influenza A viruses according to data from the virology laboratories at the Rennes University Hospital and the Brest University Hospital.

Asthma

  • Although on the decline, activity remains high in hospital emergency departments and community clinics among children.
