Key Points

COVID-19

  • The epidemic situation is worsening, marking the start of a new wave. The incidence rate (IR), testing rate (TR), and positivity rate (PR) are all rising. The regional (unadjusted) IR rose from 268 per 100,000 inhabitants in Week 46 to 370 per 100,000 inhabitants in Week 47. The IR is rising in all 4 departments. Increase in the prevalence of general care hospitalizations and critical care hospitalizations, as well as in emergency room visits; use of SOS Médecins remains stable.

Bronchiolitis

  • Epidemic activity, rising phase, peak not yet reached. A new increase in emergency room visits and SOS Médecins consultations following the decline observed in Week 45.

  • Another increase in emergency department visits and SOS Médecins consultations following the decline observed in Week 45.

  • Increase in RSV detection according to the virology laboratories at the Brest and Rennes University Hospitals.

Influenza

  • Epidemic activity, rising phase.

  • Sharp increase in SOS Médecins consultations and emergency room visits.

  • Increase in the detection of influenza A viruses by the virology laboratories at the Brest and Rennes university hospitals

Acute gastroenteritis

  • Low activity. Slight decrease in monitored SOS Médecins indicators and the number of emergency room visits compared to the previous week.
