Health Monitoring in Brittany. Update as of April 13, 2021.

Key Points

COVID-19

Decrease in the incidence rate but increase in the positivity rate calculated from PCR and antigen tests. The incidence rate fell from 207.0 per 100,000 inhabitants in Week 13 to 182.1 per 100,000 in Week 14. The positivity rate increased from 5.2% to 6.3% compared to Week 13. The proportion of suspected cases of the so-called British variant is 86.4% in Brittany, and that of the Brazilian or South African variants is 2.8%. Vaccination coverage stands at 18.8% for a single dose. As of April 14, there were 28 confirmed cases in Brittany of the 20C/655Y variant, initially identified at Lannion Hospital. The overall situation shows a misleading stabilization in incidence, linked to reduced testing during the Easter weekend and school holidays, with hospital capacity remaining strained.

Gastroenteritis

Regional trends: moderate activity. Stagnation in activity for emergency room visits and an increase in SOS Médecins indicators.
