Health Monitoring in the Bourgogne and Franche-Comté Regions. Update as of March 31, 2022.
Key Points
COVID-19
SARS-CoV-2 circulation continues to rise for the third consecutive week at the same rate (+54% vs. +53% last week). The incidence rate is approaching 1,200 per 100,000 people. It is increasing across all age groups and in all counties. Testing and positivity rates are also rising.
Flu
The region has been in an epidemic phase since S10.
Activity at SOS Médecins and in emergency departments continues to rise, exceeding 2019–2020 levels (Figures 1 and 2). The trend shown in Figure 1 should be interpreted with caution due to a lack of data transmission from SOS Médecins for two out of four associations starting February 16, 2022.
A new severe case of influenza was reported by the intensive care unit sentinel network this week (a total of 14 ICU admissions since late 2021).
Two new outbreaks of acute respiratory infection (ARI) in group settings (8 ongoing outbreaks out of 26 reported since September 1, 2021. Among the reports, 6 are linked to influenza).
Bronchiolitis
Activity at SOS Médecins clinics and emergency departments for bronchiolitis is low and is within the ranges observed during the two previous seasons or even lower.
Acute gastroenteritis
The rate of visits to emergency departments for gastroenteritis is higher than in the two previous seasons.
