Health Monitoring in the Bourgogne and Franche-Comté Regions. Update as of March 26, 2021.
Key Points
COVID-19
Epidemiological indicators of the COVID-19 pandemic show that SARS-CoV-2 continues to circulate at high levels. The decline in indicators among older adults suggests that vaccination and the measures implemented are having an impact. It is necessary to maintain prevention and social distancing measures, including among vaccinated individuals, given the identification of new variants.
Influenza
Activity at SOS Médecins and emergency departments related to the flu remains very low. This season, due to the active circulation of SARS-CoV-2, surveillance of flu cases admitted to intensive care has been expanded to include severe cases of COVID-19. No severe cases of the flu have currently been reported in the region by intensive care units.
Bronchiolitis
Activity related to bronchiolitis in children under 2 years of age has reached epidemic levels this week. An increase in activity in emergency departments is being observed.
Gastroenteritis
Activity at SOS Médecins clinics and emergency departments has been increasing for the past 4 weeks, whereas it had previously been well below levels seen in previous seasons.
