The overall scale of the 2018–2019 outbreak was greater than in previous seasons, with approximately a quarter more outpatient visits and emergency department visits for bronchiolitis than last year; however, the hospitalization rate following emergency department visits was comparable to that of previous seasons, suggesting the absence of particular severity.
