Epidemiological Situation

In Guadeloupe, the increase in the number of clinically suspected dengue cases reported by the network of private general practitioners was confirmed in week 2019-46 with nearly 300 cases, a figure above the seasonal threshold for the past 6 weeks. Two new outbreaks have been identified in Sainte-Rose (Le Boyer) and Le Gosier (Beaumanoir), municipalities that already had an active outbreak the previous week. Since July 2019, the number of clinically suspected dengue cases is estimated at 1,720, with 52% occurring in the last 4 weeks. The CEMIE will meet this weekend to discuss the evolution of the epidemiological situation.

In Saint Martin, since July 2019, there have been an estimated 90 clinically suspected cases of dengue, 78% of which occurred in the past 4 weeks, along with 6 biologically confirmed cases in the past 4 weeks. The epidemiological situation is being closely monitored.
