Dengue Surveillance in Guadeloupe and the Northern Islands. Update as of December 5, 2019.
Epidemiological Situation
In Guadeloupe, all surveillance indicators continue to rise. Since July 2019, nearly 2,400 clinically suspected cases of dengue have been reported. Given the epidemiological situation, the dengue management committee will meet shortly to intensify management efforts and mobilize various stakeholders in the fight against mosquitoes, the vectors of this disease.
In Saint Martin, we are observing a decrease in the estimated number of clinically suspected dengue cases and a stabilization in the number of emergency room visits for suspected dengue compared to the previous week. Since October 2019, nearly 150 clinically suspected dengue cases have been seen in private practice. However, the epidemiological situation is being closely monitored due to an increase in the number of laboratory-confirmed cases, with 45 cases reported since October 2019.
