Dengue Surveillance in Guadeloupe and the Northern Islands. Update as of December 12, 2019.

Epidemiological Situation

In Guadeloupe, viral circulation is intensifying, with the number of clinically suggestive cases and biologically confirmed cases continuing to rise. The expected peak values for this period (clinical cases) have been exceeded for 10 weeks. Since July 2019, nearly 2,860 clinically suggestive cases of dengue have been recorded.

The dengue management committee will meet on Friday, December 13, to propose intensified efforts to combat mosquitoes, the vectors of this disease.

In Saint Martin, the number of clinically suggestive cases has remained stable for the past three weeks, but the number of biologically confirmed cases is rising significantly. In Saint Barthélemy, the first clinically suggestive and biologically confirmed cases of dengue have been identified.
