Dengue Surveillance in the Caribbean. Update as of April 27, 2023.

Key Points

  • In Guadeloupe, the virus continues to circulate throughout the archipelago. However, a decline in surveillance indicators has been observed, with a few sporadic cases reported and an outbreak in Saint-François (Anse des Rochers). This trend is expected to be confirmed in the coming weeks.

  • In Martinique, the dengue virus continues to circulate, primarily in the southern part of the island. Surveillance indicators remain relatively stable.

  • The DENV-2 serotype has been identified in both territories.

  • In Saint Martin and Saint Barthélemy, the situation remains calm. Various factors (traveler traffic, large events) could quickly lead to a deterioration of the epidemiological situation.
