Guadeloupe: The economic and social situation is affecting perinatal indicators.

Despite a painful history, every ethnic group has its place in Guadeloupe, and the significance of cultural mixing symbolizes complete integration. This region is deeply rooted in its history and heritage. However, it suffers from a lack of infrastructure. A portion of the population faces difficult living conditions due to a lack of economic resources. Perinatal indicators reflect this general context and highlight the difficulties faced by women. Among other things, Guadeloupe has the highest rate of induced abortions in France. There is a significant number of pregnancies among very young women—and consequently, unwanted pregnancies—that result in induced abortions.
