Public Health Monitoring in Corsica. Bulletin dated October 14, 2026.

Key Points

Dengue, Chikungunya, and Zika

The situation remains unchanged (two imported cases of dengue in Corsica since May 1)

Acute Respiratory Infections

Lower respiratory tract infections (LRTI): baseline level, with a slight increase in activity at SOS Médecins clinics (10% of cases vs. 8% in S40), driven primarily by bronchitis and acute pneumonia.
− Influenza and flu-like syndromes: baseline level, very low activity;
− Bronchiolitis (children under 1 year old): baseline level, very low activity;
− COVID-19: SARS-CoV-2 is actively circulating on the island as it is in the rest of mainland France, but the impact on emergency care utilization remains low (slightly higher at SOS Médecins) and lower than in previous years.

The flu vaccination campaign began this week, with the option to get vaccinated against COVID-19 at the same time.

Mortality

During Week 40, the number of deaths from all causes, based on INSEE civil registry data, remained within the usual range of fluctuation in Corsica.
The number of all-cause deaths, certified electronically, in Week 41 also remained in line with what is typically observed (as the numbers are low and fluctuate in Corsica).
