Physical Activity and Sedentary Lifestyles: A Layperson’s Guide to the New Recommendations.

The French recommendations on physical activity and reducing sedentary behavior were updated in February 2016 in a collective expert report and an advisory opinion issued by the French Agency for Food, Environmental and Occupational Health & Safety (ANSES). They have evolved in several areas: the distinction between physical activity and sedentary behavior, the specification of the types of physical activities to be performed, and the specific recommendations for children; adolescents; adults; pregnant women, women in the postpartum period, and menopausal women; people aged 65 and older; and people with functional limitations.[R.A.]
