#Smoke-Free Month 2019: The 4th edition comes to a close
The #Smoke-Free Month 2019 campaign, organized by Santé publique France in collaboration with the Ministry of Solidarity and Health and the National Health Insurance Fund, concludes on November 30, 2019. A look back at the fourth edition.
More than 200,000 people participated in #SmokeFreeMonth in 2019, and the campaign has recorded nearly 800,000 registrations since its launch in 2016
Many participants turned to remote support tools, confirming the importance of having support during the quitting process.
The e-coaching app developed by the French Health Insurance Agency in partnership with Santé publique France and with the support of the Francophone Society of Tobacco Control has been downloaded more than 128,000 times.
The 39 89 helpline, Tabac info service, received over 22,700 calls
The engagement of participants and their supporters was evident on social media, with 126,800 fans on the Tabac info service #MoisSansTabac Facebook page and 5,600 followers on Twitter.
Partners Rally to Support #Smoke-Free Month in Metropolitan France and the Overseas Territories
More than 9,200 national and regional partners have come together to make this year’s #SmokeFreeMonth a success, showcasing creativity to engage participants. Thousands of events have been organized across the country to inform smokers and support participants—including a #SmokeFreeMonth tour of Corsica.
This year, 29 #SmokeFreeMonth villages were organized in mainland France and overseas territories.
#SmokeFreeMonth received support from 200 community health centers, 117 healthcare facilities, and 18,000 pharmacies. 700,000 smoking cessation kits were distributed by the latter.
This event, now a must-attend on the French calendar, will return in 2020 with a completely new format.
