Public Health France Barometers

The Santé publique France Health Barometer: a survey of health-related behaviors, opinions, and knowledge designed to guide public health prevention and education policies.

This is one of the largest national surveys, having covered more than 30 topics since 1992, such as smoking, nutrition, well-being, sleep, living conditions, vaccination practices, and more...

Survey Objectives

The survey provides insight into the health-related opinions and habits of the population residing in France, and aims to guide public health prevention and information policies.

Survey process

The survey, conducted by telephone, is carried out by the polling firm Ipsos. It began in January 2020 and will run for six months.
Participants are contacted via randomly dialed phone numbers and invited to complete a questionnaire in 2020 that takes an average of 30 minutes. Only one person per household is interviewed.

To ensure that the data collected best reflects the attitudes and behaviors of all people living in France, it is very important that every selected individual agrees to participate. All age groups, all regions, and all living situations are included.

Santé publique France would like to thank in advance all those contacted by the Ipsos institute as part of this survey for their cooperation and the time they agree to devote to the interviewers. The data obtained will be invaluable for research and prevention.

The initial results of this study will be released in 2021.
