Estimates of the Incidence of Influenza A(H1N1)2009-Related Consultations in Primary Care in Metropolitan France: Methods, Advantages, and Limitations. Special Issue. Influenza A(H1N1)2009: A Six-Month Update

To assess the burden of influenza A(H1N1)2009 in community practice, weekly estimates of the number of influenza A(H1N1)2009-related consultations are produced in metropolitan France. Data from two influenza surveillance networks in private practice are used to produce these estimates: the Sentinelles network and the Grog network (Regional Influenza Surveillance Groups). This article presents their methods and limitations. (R.A.)
