Exposure of the French population to ionizing radiation from medical diagnostic procedures in 2007

The purpose of this report is to update and supplement data on the French population’s medical exposure to diagnostic imaging examinations for the year 2007, as the most recent published data date back to 2002 (Scanff et al., 2005). The information provided in this report specifies in particular: - medical exposure to diagnostic imaging examinations among the French population, by imaging modality (conventional radiology, computed tomography, nuclear medicine, and diagnostic interventional radiology), by anatomical region examined, by age, and by patient sex; - the proportion of the French population (number of people, age, and sex) that actually underwent diagnostic procedures using ionizing radiation in 2007.
