Emergency Surveillance: OSCOUR® Network (Organization for Coordinated Emergency Surveillance). National Results 2004–2011

Following the 2003 heat wave, the goal was to develop a system capable of detecting new threats to public health arising from sources as diverse as environmental phenomena or emerging infectious diseases. With this in mind, the InVS developed surveillance systems that no longer focus on identified diseases or syndromes, but rather on structures capable of providing daily information on the population’s health status.
