Workplace HIV Infections Among Healthcare Workers in France: An Update as of June 30, 1995

As of June 30, 1995, a total of 37 cases of occupational HIV infection among healthcare workers had been reported in France. The majority of these occupational infections involved healthcare workers in the Île-de-France region (21 out of 37). Four others worked in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region. The departments where accidents leading to infection occurred most frequently were internal medicine, intensive care, emergency rooms, and the operating room. (R.A.)
