Interview with Christian Gautellier, director of the "Children, Screens, Youth, and Media" initiative at Ceméa (Centers for Training in Active Education Methods) and vice president of Ciem (Inter-Association Collective on Children and Media). The launch of a second television channel for babies in late 2007 sparked controversy and debate among educators and policymakers. This provides an opportunity to examine the relationship between young viewers and the small screen, children’s psychological development, and, more broadly, interactions with the family environment and the challenges of media education.
