Religion influences public health through religious practices. Beyond the religious sphere, a person’s cultural practices allow them to establish their identity. According to Mohamed Boussouar, health educators should not focus specifically on the religious aspect but should approach people “as they are” rather than as we might wish them to be. Take the time to engage, acknowledge one’s own cultural limitations, and foster mutual sharing and constructive criticism. In short, work together to establish shared boundaries.
