Quebec: Peer-led interventions are making inroads in health promotion.

In Quebec, peer-led interventions are thriving. They are widely implemented among stigmatized populations—for example, in HIV prevention efforts and initiatives targeting vulnerable groups. While these interventions have undoubtedly helped increase engagement among the target populations, the results of these programs remain mixed. Two main risks of failure have emerged: a lack of recognition for the work of peers and difficulties in recruiting them.
