Renacoq: Surveillance of Pertussis in Hospitals in 2001

Since 1996, surveillance of the disease has been based on a metropolitan pediatric hospital network. Its objective is to monitor trends in severe cases of pertussis and to assess the impact of the introduction of acellular vaccines on the epidemiology of the disease, as well as the impact of the booster vaccine administered at ages 11–13 on pertussis in infants. This article presents the surveillance results for the year 2001.
