Key Points

Influenza and influenza-like illnesses: In week 52 of 2016, regional indicators monitoring the influenza epidemic continued to rise. According to national virological data from outpatient samples, the dominant circulating virus remains A(H3N2).

Bronchiolitis (in children under 2 years of age): The Occitanie region remained in the epidemic phase for bronchiolitis, a condition that has persisted since Week 48 of 2016. As national indicators stabilize, it is highly likely that the epidemic peak will be reached in the coming weeks.

Gastroenteritis: Regional indicators in outpatient and inpatient settings were on the rise at the end of 2016, reflecting the active circulation in our region of pathogens responsible for gastrointestinal disorders.
